Art Inspiration... Something to Try Creating.

28 March 2011

Another inspiration from Apartment Therapy.

I really love modern art, and I am not talking about the Andy Warhol painting in this particular image.  What caught my eye in this picture in that art in the background...

(sorry about the quality, I just cropped it so you could see what  I am talking about)

I love this piece, I am not sure what it is, but I am thinking gold leaf, or leafing paint, and old rustic wood.  Could also be metal, but I like the wood idea.

Is this a piece that you would like, or do you hate the style?  Inquiring minds want to know!

I like it, and think it must be wood. Looks like it's ripe for a DIY attempt. I hope you make one and share it here.

The artwork in the back immediately stuck out to me too, even before I read your post! It's phenomenal!

I love it! I agree it's probably a 2x12. It almost looks like the edges are curled like aged paper. Awesome.

I love it. I bet there is a story behind it which intrigues me and makes me love it even more.

That's the first thing that caught my eye! I'm glad that's what you're talking about. It looks like a reclaimed piece of wood to start.
Cheers!

I love the art piece and it just has to be 2 pieces of wood joined together is my thought. Perhaps I'm wrong but I love it no matter what it is made of, and would love to see a tutorial on how to make it.

I would hang this piece of art in a heart beat!
Go for it...and then share the details, please. :)

I am such a sucker for ANYTHING that looks aged and tells a story. I love that piece of wood - maybe I'll try to re-create it - if I do I'll send it your way! :-)
