The Painted Poppy, Furniture re-do, Guest

03 June 2010

I don't know why I hadn't ever seen Lindsey's blog The Pleated Poppy, but I fell in love when I found it.  It's just so fun!  I  had to ask if I could feature this before and after.  She said yes!  Yea for us all!  Now we get to be inspired!

ahhh, much better.
still needs a brown antiquing wash.
i'll get to that, um.... later.
aged it with a razor blade this time, rather than the usual sand paper.
i'll get a close up pic of that for you.... later.
and painted the mirror black, too.
loving that.

wall paint: restoration hardware silver sage
table paint: mermaid net by behr from ho d'po (home depot)

I LOVE the colors!
I am so drawn to this.
PERFECT!  Wouldn't you agree?

That is so interesting! The original was lovely too, it had a beachy vibe. If she had left the mirror white and the table blue, it would have looked french country. with the black mirror it looks very retro chic. Love it all.

I love that color! I just painted an end table for my living room a very similar color.

I love this!! I just found the most fantastic vintage sewing table, and I was thinking of blue...this color might be it!

The colour is phenomenal and I also really like how the detail in the mirror really came out after painting it black.
