THANKS!

To the person leaving rude ANONYMOUS comments

20 May 2010

I am SO steaming mad right now!  And something needs to be said.

I apologize to those honest people that say grown up, nice things as anonymous commenters and that you are going to have a harder time commenting because I am taking away the anonymous option BUT

Whoever is the coward that keeps saying rude things about people's project needs to grow up or at least have enough guts to say it with your name for everyone to see.

Learn some manners.

Learn to take some responsibility for your words.  If you wouldn't say it signed in your personal profile then don't say it at all.

You have no right to use rude language on my blog.  Please.

Remember, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all you are not required to leave a comment, and frankly if it is not uplifting- keep it to yourself, I don't want to hear it.

(again sorry to those that didn't need to hear this! and sorry to vent)

I can't believe someone would be so juvenile....I made my comment where I had to approve them..luckily nothing yet

The House Creative May 20, 2010 at 10:14 PM

Oh, I cant believe somebody would do that. Horrible! Seriously, some people need to get a life. I dont understand why somebody would take the time to do that. Mean people.

Unknown May 20, 2010 at 10:15 PM

We all get those...I have one saying that i had too many pictures of me on my blog....Honestly, i think my 3 year old takes the show HAHAHA
Don't worry, there is a lot of bullies out there too. I think it is good to vent so everybody knows that it is out there and not be surprised.

She or he probably got bored with Rate My Space and came over to blogland to make some trouble! The nerve of some people! I'm with you, if you don't have something nice to say, keep it to yourself!

Kristine at The Painted Hive May 20, 2010 at 10:18 PM

Well said Cassity. It's such a shame some peole have nothing better to do with their time. Life should be used for good - not evil.

I know it's hard, but remember that people who do this stuff are so miserable in their own pathetic little lives that have to spew their unhappiness on everyone else.

You are doing a good thing. Know we love you. Keep the faith.

Julie

Nicole @ the style hatch May 20, 2010 at 10:28 PM

I can't believe somebody is leaving you rude comments... I have heard a few others say this same thing on their blogs too... I guess someone is just very jealous at all your talent!! I love your blog, don't listen to who ever it is!!

*Nikki* May 20, 2010 at 10:30 PM

that is sad that they waste valuable time in thier lives to do such a thing....isn't there anything else more important they could be doing than leaving rude comments...please? geesh!!

Parenting in blue jeans May 20, 2010 at 10:39 PM

Sometimes the people who down right rude and mean are the loudest but that doesn't make them right! That person probably lives a very sad life with a mean mommy!

I think you have a lovely blog and frankly, I look forward to seeing all the new projects.

rebecca @ older and wisor May 20, 2010 at 10:55 PM

I read your blog all the time, even though I don't comment, but I've just got to on this.

Keep in mind that for every rude (unnecessary) comment you get, there are SO many people that love what you do and don't say anything at all.

Your blog rocks. The end.

Amy May 20, 2010 at 11:04 PM

don't let it get you down, (although I KNOW it would make my blood boil!!). you are so well liked here in blogland. keep doing what you do, you do it well!

Sherry @ No Minimalist Here May 20, 2010 at 11:08 PM

That is the exact reason I stopped posting on RMS. I welcome constructive criticism but there were posters commenting just to make snide, rude comments. Of course they were always anonymous and never had pictures of their rooms on RMS. Take it for no more than juvenile behavior and know that there are many of us that love your blog...me included!

The vampires surface from time to time..LOL I was having spam-ie comments that had a profile and stupid me clicked through and landed in Japanese PORN!! OMG...I just about broke my mouse trying to get out of the site..

So now I just delete any comment that looks strange.

Keep on doing what you do...people just have to try to rain on our happy parade in life because they can't stand the happiness! :0) Killing joy is their main focus..shame on them!

Hugs,
Stephanie ♥

Here's a huge virtual hug! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that... I don't usually comment, but my blood is boiling for you! I didn't realize that we were all back in the first grade again... ;)
Keep up the good work- love reading your blog!

Jessica Marie May 21, 2010 at 4:30 AM

Way to go for saying something! You go girl! :) They are probably just jealous or something. Anyways, I think you have a lovely blog and I LOVE LOVE LOVE coming to it to see all the wonderful DIY projects you share and all the other DIY projects other peeps out there share! Lovely! Sorry you had a negative comment and I hope they got the message!

Unknown May 21, 2010 at 5:28 AM

Sorry you had this happen! I had the same thing happen last Fall and hed to stop anonymous comments.
I think sometimes people are very unhappy with their own lives and want others to be unhappy as well.

I don't comment often (if at all). But I do so enjoy your posts! I know how frustrating it is to have people be so juvenile, but please don't forget about those of us who truly enjoy what you do!

alissa {33shadesofgreen} May 21, 2010 at 7:42 AM

*hugs* to you! Don't let this crazy person get you down. There are so many people out there who love your blog!

Potatoez n' Pineconez May 21, 2010 at 7:46 AM

These types of jealous acts = are confirmation that you are doing something RIGHT!

I love your blog, and appreciate all the effort you and other decor bloggers are putting into their own piece of the internet.

Have a great weekend

Remodelaholic May 21, 2010 at 8:07 AM

Thanks you all so much for your support. I really appreciate it.

I am thankful to my readers and defensive of the projects I post whether they are mine or from someone else. I think we have enough junk in our regular lives that we don't need that here.

And, I would hate for anyone to read those comments, and I can't sit at the computer all day every second trying to field rude comments. (which I do delete immediately!)

Anyway, thanks for your love and support! I love you all back!

I want my blog to be a good experience all around.

The Frosted Gardner May 21, 2010 at 8:35 AM

Thanks for the link party! I am a new follower! Thanks for stopping by my blog last week!

Brittany@Superwoman May 21, 2010 at 9:16 AM

I moderate all my comments before they are posted. It helps stop the spam comments too!
You're right, it is really cowardly for someone to make fun of others while concealing their identity.

House of Smiths May 21, 2010 at 10:46 AM

Hey, girl.
OH MY WORD! What is wrong with people?
I don't understand it!
I had my little issue with a mean comment and called the girl OUT On it, on my blog! LOL.

http://houseofsmiths.blogspot.com/2010/04/my-first-nasty-comment.html

You are SO RIGHT to be feeling this way!
Even though it's hard, just try to think of her "NASTYNESS" as pure jealousy! It's hard, but you KNOW that's why people are awful like that.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. It's just so sad that some people come to that. UGH.

I love your work!

Jen @ tatertotsandjello.com May 21, 2010 at 10:51 AM

People are so rude! I had to take anonymous of mine too because I was getting rude anonymous ones too. So obnoxious!

XOXO

Julie May 21, 2010 at 10:55 AM

I can't believe what jealousy can do!!! It's not nice for you but you can be sure that person envy you - weird to say but it's usually the reason for comments like the one your talking about!! Continue your good work!!

dawnaclark May 21, 2010 at 3:55 PM

I am a new follower and am totally HOOKED! Your blog is so inspiring and I am so grateful you take so much time to share with all of us!
{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}} and thank you so very much!
I think all of your projects and your guest projects are FABULOUS!!

Barillafab4.blogspot.com May 21, 2010 at 8:26 PM

Rude people = stupid people! Thats ridiculous...keep on with your fantastic blog and ignore the haters ;)~

Rachey-Foo May 22, 2010 at 12:03 AM

I'm new to your blog but wanted to comment. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your blog. Your talented and inspiring!

My mom always said that people who are mean usually have someone being mean to them in their life. Not an excuse but just know it's not really about you...They just need something to complain about. Consider yourself blessed to be so HAPPY and surrounded by people who not only love you, but appreciate you. ;)

Wendy May 22, 2010 at 8:49 AM

Don't let the bastards get you down. You have a wonderful website and are adding nothing but good to the internet...they can't say the same.

Unknown May 23, 2010 at 11:09 PM

Big hugs - sorry somebody upset you - You get some people on the internet where they feel anonymous and they say things they'd never dream of saying in person to someone. I honestly think this is my first time ever commenting here, but I had to come out of the woodwork (actually, click through from my Google Reader!) and put in my 2 cents. I've been blogging for ten years now, and I've had my share of trolls off and on throughout the years. The one thing that seems common among all of them is that they're desperate for attention, and they LOVE knowing that they're getting under your skin. The best thing you can do is totally ignore them. I suspect they saw this post and smirked a little, knowing how much they succeeded in pissing you off - don't let them have that satisfaction. Just quietly deleting their comments seems to let the wind out of their sails much more effectively!

And I'll echo the comment before mine, don't let the bastards get you down!

I have been following you for a while now via Google Reader, and have to say I am shocked there are still such lowly and cowardly people out there taking up space on blogs.
And way to GO, to stand up and say something! So many bloggers just delete such comments and move on, so it's refreshing to see you take the initiative to actually speak out against such crass and rude behaviour!
I wish you better luck with your comments from now on, and may the person responsible suffer tendonitis and be unable to type such things ever again!!!

I love comments! Thanks for taking your time to tell me what you think! I read them all and enjoy your enthusiasm for the work shown here!

Please remember that people have worked hard on these projects. Each person's budget and goals are different, so please try to make kind, constructive comments. Remember if it isn't nice, please don't say anything at all.

Sorry there is no longer the option for anonymous comments, unfortunately people have been abusing that option!
