THANKS!

Weed Like To Give You A Father's Day Gift! GIVEAWAY!

08 June 2010

This Giveaway Is Closed!

Weed like to give you a brand new.....

Did you know that Mr. Remodelaholic loves tools?  I't true!  I do. Any tool that makes the job easier is a tool on my list to buy.  And I was able to receive a new tool for my yard from Black and Decker this week.

Considering our desire to make life a little easier and a little cleaner we are starting to get yard tools that are environmentally friendly and take no fuel or oil to run them.  I am tired of dealing with the maintenance and cost associated them.  I recently received a sweet new Black and Decker Cordless 24-Volt String trimmer.  Yes! It is battery powered, which is great.  Now fuel or cords to deal with.
The timing could not have been better to receive a new trimmer for my yard.  Happy Father's Day to me!  The trimmer that I have now is dying and needs to die, before I do from the amount of air pollution that it puts out into my lungs, yard and neighborhood.

Let me share with you what I love about this new trimmer.

These are the main features that I found awesome.

  • High Output 24V NiCad Battery  (good power)
  • Zero Emissions in My Yard!! (seriously you would choke with our old trimmer)
  • PowerCommand Technology (two speeds)
  • Over sized Handle (easy to handle and carry)
  • Lightweight Aluminum Shaft (not to heavy, easy to adjust for height)
  • Two-Tools-In-One (edger and trimmer)
  • Large 13 Inch Cutting Swath
  • Automatic Feed Spool System

The first thing that I noticed when I pulled it out of the box and assembled it, was how light weight it was.  It weighs about half the weight of my old gas trimmer.  That makes it easy to handle around the yard without straining my arms and back.

It did take me a while to find out how to start it though.  I was searching for the on switch when all I had to do is pull the trigger and I was off.  NICE and EASY!  Battery powered also means zero emissions.  My wife was always afraid for my life when she saw me out there trimming in a blue cloud of smoke.  I had to start wearing masks to protect my lungs.

The High Output 24v NiCad Battery is a huge bonus.  24-volts is a lot of power for a battery.  It has two power levels too, with PowerCommand, to fit your needs whether you have tall grass or short grass to trim.  The other day I had grass up to my waist.  It is perfect cutting that down.  (Our mower died... so we still need to find a new one, I wasn't slacking on my husbandly duties)

It has a nice 13" wide cutting surface that automatically adjusts the string when it gets short, so you don't have to stop and stomp it on the ground.  It also holds 30' of line, which is about double the length of standard trimmers.

It is not only a trimmer, but a edger too.  with a simple little twist of the shaft you can change the angle and cut a nice clean edge.  I love tools that have a multiple purpose.  It save room for me to buy MORE tools (insert evil laugh here)

As a teenager I worked with a landscaping company and had my own company during college so I have used many trimmers throughout the years gas powered and corded.  Overall, I think that this is one of the smartest designs for a trimmer that I have seen.  By the way it would make a great Fathers Day Gift for all you shoppers!

Thanks Black and Decker for your great product!

-Mr. Remodelaholic

Wanna see the before and after?... and when I say before- I mean SCARY!  (remember our mower died, so we didn't have one for a few weeks, okay technically we still haven't forked over the money to buy a new one, but our neighbors have had pity on us, and haven't chased us from the neighborhood with pitchforks and torches!)

Oh, so much better!

Wanna win one for yourself?  Thanks to the wonderful people at Black and Decker?

We deserve a trimmer b/c we have lots of trees in our yard that I refuse to cut down but really need to be trimmed around!

this is a fantastic giveaway, one that i would love to win, so my boy can have an easier time doing our lawn and to cut down on the cursing that happens each time!

Kelly June 8, 2010 at 12:17 PM

Well, considering we're closing on a 1937 brick bungalow the end of the month and the elderly people who live there weren't able to do any yard work at all, I 'd say we'd qualify for this!

Our yard is so bad that we have ripped out the sod TWICE, laid down grass seed once, and laid down new sod once. It is finally beginning to look like a normal yard but we'd love a trimmer to keep it looking sharp!

Kelly June 8, 2010 at 12:18 PM

And, btw, you've got a fantastic concept for a blog. Love it. really, I do.

Barbara June 8, 2010 at 12:21 PM

As a single girl with no husband or boyfriend to do my lawn bidding, anything that would make it easier to maintain my house would be wunnerful!!

Allison {A Glimpse Inside} June 8, 2010 at 12:28 PM

Oh my goodness! This giveaway couldn't be happening at a better time. Our gas trimmer went out on a us a few months back. Which was probably a good thing b/c it would smoke like crazy! So not good! DH and I just moved and we have a fenced in backyard and without a trimmer to go around the fence, it looks a little rough back there!

Nancy June 8, 2010 at 12:28 PM

Oh, please pick me!

My front and back yard has been a complete challenge that I can't quite tackle. I got a mower last weekend and their trimmer would definitly help with the edges and trim.

Check it out,

Entry #2!

PS: I love your little house. Is that storage? A dog house? do you have plans? I'm looking at building something very similar.

shirley elizabeth June 8, 2010 at 12:30 PM

We just got a house a month ago and are still borrowing all our yard tools from parents...and I'm supposed to throw a shower in less than two weeks and all we've got still are tall weeds and no grass!

Amanda June 8, 2010 at 12:31 PM

Pick me! I have to borrow a trimmer all of the time and it is corded so I can only do a small space. The parking strips for six homes on my block are all maintained by me because I am compulsive. Unfortunately, my extension cord won't reach to the neighbors and it looks bad.

Please pick me!

Chris June 8, 2010 at 12:39 PM

Oooh- if I dared take a picture of my yard. The hubbie and I haven't been able to start the week-wacker this year. This has resulted in a new kind of fence around our yard. Nice mown grass.... with a tall green hedge where the mower won't reach. It's getting to the point of ridiculous as it creeps inches past the sidewalk in front of our door (the sidewalk is a good 4 inches above the normal grass level- perfect for tripping). Since I usually have the baby carrier on while doing yard-work, I've excluded myself from bending over and hand-mowing the edges- its a bit hard with the babe inside. Rambling. The point? We'd love to win a whacker.

Unknown June 8, 2010 at 12:47 PM

I would love to win this whacker for my new hubby! He is such a good sport about trying to make our new house look nice with crappy old equipment. It would be great if he had something new to work with!

Rachel and Jake Squire June 8, 2010 at 12:58 PM

First off I heart your blog. I think it is making my husband crazy all the things I want to do.
I can't tell you how much I need this. First off its been a rough year (lost jobs), and I don't have any $ to even buy my husband a fathers day present. We moved into our home a year ago, and haven't planted grass because we can't afford the tools to maintain it. this would really help us. and if you could see my lawn right now... you would know I would need it.
Please pick me.
I gave you shout out on facebook, and I'm a follower on there too!

Full disclosure - We have a trimmer already but I woudl love th have another! That way I could trim at teh same time as my husband and show him my superior skills :) LOL

Umm, my backyard has been rotatilled 4 times, forgotten about, remembered and rotatilled again. we are in the process of seeding so this trimmer would be perfect for us!!

Becky June 8, 2010 at 1:14 PM

I've been looking at these for a while now. We just moved into our first house and my SO just said last week he needed one of these. I like the fact it's light so maybe I could use it while he's at work and help him out :) It would be perfect timing for Father's Day and I could get him the grill we've been dying for too. He'd have the best father's day ever!

I follow you on Reader :)

The (Not So) Domestic Goddess June 8, 2010 at 1:15 PM

We JUST moved into our first house, and the yard is already in need of some serious TLC. This would majorly help the hubs keep things looking nice so the neighbors don't start talking bad about us from the get go. No one wants to be "that" neighbor with the overgrown lawn.

Whitney June 8, 2010 at 1:15 PM

I need this trimmer because our poor yard is nothing BUT weeds. We have been slowly planting grass and trying to get rid of them, but they are taking over!

Christie Cottage June 8, 2010 at 1:25 PM

I need this!!! I have been watching the commercials!

I lost my Dad in 2008 and I lost my 43 year old husband in 2001. It's just me and I push mow 1.25 acres. A weedeater would be wonderful so I don't have to borrow one.

I already follow your blog. You would not believe how excited I got when I saw this giveaway!!!

Fingers crossed!

Annie June 8, 2010 at 1:28 PM

A weed eater, edger? We need it because we just bought our first house and move in a few weeks. My husband would love another lawn tool that his wife won't let him but yet.

Christin@Pregnant with power tools June 8, 2010 at 1:44 PM

Yep I could use a string trimmer... we just built the kids a playset and I know the mower won't get into the edges! So... pretty please :)

Jennifer Hairstuff June 8, 2010 at 1:46 PM

I would love this trimmer! Well more like my husband would love it! We have such a big yard, and he would love anything to make it help!! :)
jenn14_85@yahoo.com

Erin June 8, 2010 at 1:47 PM

My husband and I need one because we just bought our first house (so have NO lawn equipment yet!) and it's a short sale that's been under contract for 3 months and we're still waiting to set a closing date - drove by the other day and the grass is knee-high! We would LOVE to win this! :)

Unknown June 8, 2010 at 1:51 PM

Oooh, I'd love to have this! My fence and side walk make it difficult to get a fully manicured lawn unless we borrow my parent's weed wacker. Oh, and that space on the other side of our driveway needs it badly!!

Jennifer Hairstuff June 8, 2010 at 1:53 PM

I soo hope i win this! This would be a great gift for my husband!!

Rebecca June 8, 2010 at 1:56 PM

We need one of these because our backyard is turning into a jungle! There is a portion of our yard behind our detached garage that we can't see so it has become overgrown and obnoxious! I'll have to remember to take a picture and link it so you can all see...
Thanks!

Just yesterday, my mother told me she wants to get my dad a new weed eater for Father's Day! What a coincidence, huh? I would love to win this so my mama and I can get my dad something extra!

Jessica June 8, 2010 at 2:06 PM

I would love to win this for my Father-in-law. He always jokes that every present we give him no matter the shape or size is a weed eater. Plus I think he could actually use a new one.

Mombrud June 8, 2010 at 2:11 PM

We have been fighting over who has to trim for years! This would make it a less odious chore.

Keri {One Mama's Daily Drama} June 8, 2010 at 2:16 PM

This would make the best Father's Day gift for my husband! Our trimmer died a couple of months ago, so although we have a mower, our yard has a lot of rough edges!

Heather June 8, 2010 at 2:19 PM

are you for reals? this is the COOLEST giveaway ever invented. i would so love to win this for my hubby. we don't have a trimmer and always have to borrow our neighbors, which i am sure they are getting sick of!!!

AMD June 8, 2010 at 2:27 PM

Great giveaway!! We could definitely use one of these--we recently bought a split-level house with a VERY awkward patch of grass between the steps leading up to the house and the front of the house. We don't have a trimmer yet. The mower is too big for it, but I've been trimming it by hand with clippers and I don't know how much longer I can keep it up!

AMD June 8, 2010 at 2:29 PM

Just for fun! Let me also say I would love to have this trimmer instead of inheriting an ancient gas-powered one from the in-laws. I might even take over the chore!

Nena June 8, 2010 at 2:50 PM

My husband has a crazy work schedule and often times my father-in-law has to help with the yard...if we won the trimmer/edger...I might consider take over that part of the yard work..

Jason and Abby June 8, 2010 at 3:06 PM

Due to my schedule and my husbands complicated work/school schedule, our yard tends to be left out in the cold. We adopted a trimmer from my father-in-law that is circa 700 BC and needless to say...it's broken and unfixable. The Black and Decker Cordless 24-Volt String trimmer would help us bring our yard into the light for parties and family gatherings.

Valerie June 8, 2010 at 3:09 PM

This giveaway is totally for me!

I just went to Lowe's yesterday and took notes comparing different trimmers for hubby for Fathers Day! He needs one sooo badly and prefers one without a cord. I prefer one without gas, so this fits that bill!

I could go on an on about why, but we really need one of these so much that it's already on our list of "gets". Still searching the couch cushions for pennies....

Thanks!

bestofthebunch@gmail.com

Lorie June 8, 2010 at 3:29 PM

Oh! I don't know that I DESERVE it...but we sure could use it! We have an electric mower and weed eater, both of which are on their last leg, but the house we currently live in has only one outside outlet. So we have to put like 5 extension cords together (which is a pain and dangerous!!) To reach all of the front and back yard.

Cordless is GOOD!!!

Emily @ EMILY POSTS June 8, 2010 at 3:29 PM

It's not me that deserves it so much as my wonderful, loving man/yard keeper. Not only has he recently planted brand spankin new grass in the front and back yard. He has babied the heck out of it, that it now grows like a weed. A new weedeater would help make his duties so much easier!

emilyhposts@gmail.com

Keriann June 8, 2010 at 3:30 PM

I need to win this for my husband! He is always yelling at our broke down old trimmer. One day it works the next day...not so much!

Keriann June 8, 2010 at 3:31 PM

I just love this blog! And now to have such an awesome giveaway! WaHoo!!

Emily @ EMILY POSTS June 8, 2010 at 3:36 PM

Thanks!

barefootandpoignant June 8, 2010 at 4:03 PM

My family would LOVE this. My hubby is teaching our son how to take care of the yard. The fact that this trimmer looks easy to operate (compared to our current trimmer), and the fact that the trimmer height is adjustable....this trimmer would be so very appreciated. Thank you for a great giveaway!

Heather June 8, 2010 at 4:10 PM

What a great giveaway. I've actually been meaning to get hubby one for a few years now, but he's not exactly what one would call 'motivated' so if its light weight then I could do the edging, etc by myself and maybe seeing me sweat in the summer sun would motivate him....or at least get him to get me a cold drink when I'm done :)

Liz June 8, 2010 at 4:15 PM

Hi, what a fabulous giveaway!! I think we deserve this trimmer because we are currently in the process of buying a house, and we don't have any lawn care equipment!! I know my husband would love this! Thanks for a chance to win!

Liz June 8, 2010 at 4:16 PM

Please oh please pick me to win! Love reading all your fab remodel ideas!

Tiffany June 8, 2010 at 4:37 PM

I need a trimmer b/c the one we have is too heavy! I like having my own tools :)

Heather Guymon June 8, 2010 at 4:56 PM

And LAST but not least, my husband and I bought our first home back in October. It took us 2 months and some change to get ourselves a lawn mower and apparently going on 7 months to get ourselves a weed eater because, well, we don't have one still and our yard is fuuuugly. Basically we just keep putting it off because bills come up, life, etc. and I am cheap...so a free one would ROCK MY WORLD! No seriously!!! It would! PLEASE LET ME WIN THIS!

Amy @ A Place in This World June 8, 2010 at 5:01 PM

I just killed my weed eater last week and desperately need a new one!

COTTAG3 June 8, 2010 at 5:35 PM

Well, we need that trimmer because who doesn't need a new awesome Black and Decker trimmer. Actually the one we have is many years old and is running out of steam. We have a serious HOA that sends us pictures if our yard doesn't meet their expectations. We need this trimmer! Thanks for the chance.

COTTAG3 June 8, 2010 at 5:36 PM

I'm a follower and have been for awhile! Thanks for offering this giveaway.

Marcia June 8, 2010 at 5:43 PM

I love that you wrote about this trimmer! We have been looking for an electric trimmer and mower. And, our reasons are the same as yours. One, it is more environmentally friendly (did you know that mowers are one of the worst engines for pollution?). Two, not having to deal with all that gas and oil.

PureDesign June 8, 2010 at 5:46 PM

We have been looking into buying a weed eater but haven't found one we can afford that will work for our situation. Right now we can't afford a gasoline weed eater, but we don't have any electrical outlets outside of our house.

A rechargeable electric weed eater and trimmer would be PERFECT!

(I also tweeted about this: http://twitter.com/shaneguymon )

Sarah June 8, 2010 at 6:18 PM

This would be a great gift for my husband! Poor guy breaks his back out there in our yard and a trimmer would be really helpful!

Annie June 8, 2010 at 6:26 PM

My husband could totally use this! We have so many "things" to mow around, like the trampoline, fences, shed, etc. that this would make our yard much neater!

Sara June 8, 2010 at 6:33 PM

I could use this trimmer because we have numerous trees in our small yard. They put off a large amount of shade for our house, so I refuse to cut them down.

andrea wardle June 8, 2010 at 6:44 PM

I need a trimmer for when we actually have grass in our yard! The sprinkler system is going in as we speak. In the meantime... I sure want some grass... bad!

deborah June 8, 2010 at 7:14 PM

I'm an avid follower of your blog! Our lot is very long and skinny, 25 x 100, so most of the yard work is trimming. I hate to have to borrow a weedeater, and hate the emissions from one! I prefer not to have to keep gas and oil in our little shed, so this cordless one would be perfect!

deborah June 8, 2010 at 7:15 PM

I linked to facebook from here, but forgot to copy the url. My name on facebook is Deborah Kitts

Cassie Bustamante June 8, 2010 at 8:35 PM

oh my goodness- do we need this ever!!! our lawn is horrible, and to make matters worse, we have no outdoor outlets so my husband has to plug a huge extension cord in to weed eat. really.

Cassie Bustamante June 8, 2010 at 8:36 PM

this link wasn't directly about my lawn, but my mailbox redo. i was so embarassed though that the awful lawn just had to be part of the picture....

Melissa June 8, 2010 at 8:55 PM

Oh we need this really bad! The inside of our house has been completely remodeled but the outside needs some serious work. Our trimmer is constantly breaking and unfortunately that isn't keeping the hubby and I motivated to get our yard in tip top shape. This would make my husband't father's day like no other.

P.S. I'm already a follower!

Melissa June 8, 2010 at 8:56 PM

Thanks for the additional chance to be a lucky winner - you are too sweet!

Niki June 8, 2010 at 9:03 PM

My DH is a great father and would benefit from a trimmer that is better than our present one. Ours works off and on and really is on it's last leg so something to make his job a little easier would make him feel fantastic! He supports our family while I am home with the boys and he is fantastic and so I would love to give him something to make him smile.

anthy June 8, 2010 at 9:31 PM

I'm totally a follower now!

I want this trimmer because my dad would love it. You should've seen the bushes the one year after he went after them with the clippers...there was barely an bush left. He'd have a ball with this. :-)

I deserve to win this weed whacker because we went the thrifty route when creating the barrier for our flower beds by using cool rocks we got for free. They look pretty cool but they're near impossible to mow around. My husband's professional landscaper aunt came out to help us with some projects last fall and was ready to chuck our weed wacker into the middle of the street. This is actually the one she recommended we buy, so I really hope we win!!

Becky June 8, 2010 at 10:33 PM

We need a new trimmer for our new yard. We bought a house in May and have a yard for the first time. Right now we have a trimmer that we plug in. I am so scared that I am going to chop the cord. This would be a great gift for DH and me. :)

Becky June 8, 2010 at 10:37 PM

and we need this trimmer because my husband and I have been married for two years and just bought our first home...we are trying to get everything we need to take care of our yard and home...but boy that stuff gets expensive. This would be a great addition to our house and take off one more thing that we need to buy to take our "first" yard!!!

*Nikki* June 8, 2010 at 10:44 PM

ok and just one more for the fun of it! Because I love reading your blog and so glad I came across it..I should be in bed right now..but I had to see what handy dandy thing you posted today..I have gotten so much inspiratin for our new home from your blog and I thank you!!!!

I NEED a trimmer because all my yard is right now is WEEDS!! Never ending.... winning this would give me a great reason to convince the hubby to have grass!! Plus the weeds need trimmed right now too :)

Stephanie :) June 9, 2010 at 1:20 AM

I would love to give this to my husband. Our current one has a cord and let me tell you....that dang thing drive me crazy!

We're in the same boat as you, old nasty gas powered trimmer that weighs a bazillion lbs and would really love to die on us. I'm tired of my SO breathing all those grody fumes (He does our house, his parents across the street, and the elderly couple down the block) So a new trimmer that is lightweight and battery powered would be El Supreme-o Uber Fathers Day gift! Teaching our 'tween' to help out a little with it would just be a cherry! :)

Jessica @ My Quarter Life Crisis June 9, 2010 at 7:56 AM

we need a new weed eater because we just gave ours to the MIL for her new house and are on the market for a new one as we speak!

Jessica @ My Quarter Life Crisis June 9, 2010 at 7:57 AM

and just because. Im feeling lucky though, my first entry is 116 and my birthday is 1/16... could it be a sign?! haha i have never won a giveaway so probably not :)

laurie c June 9, 2010 at 8:02 AM

we just bought our first home and we're having a blast fixing it up. would love the trimmer to keep our yard looking sharp. and i'm sure my husband would love a new tool. =)

Ashley June 9, 2010 at 8:48 AM

I desperately need it for some shrubs and bushes in my garden that are growing out of control! I think I would love it as much as my husband!

Ashley June 9, 2010 at 8:50 AM

And my just because entry! Did I mention my husband's birthday, Father's Day, and our anniversary are all within nine days of each other?

Martha June 9, 2010 at 9:45 AM

I love the fact that this trimmer is good for the environment! Our gas trimmer is soooo smelly AND heavy and I can never get it started so I have to depend on the husband to do the trimming. I would LOVE to win this!!

Laree June 9, 2010 at 9:53 AM

We bought our first house last year. My hubby spent 3 hours at the home improvment store drooling over all the things he wanted to buy. Without thinking, he just grabbed the cheapest trimer. Total waste of money! He never got it to work, and now spends hours every week complaining how he needs a trimmer, but I won't agree to just putting it on the credit card, and instead say we need to save up for it.

In other words, if I win, I'll become The. Coolest. Wife. Ever.

Amy C June 9, 2010 at 10:42 AM

Pick me, Pick me! We desperately need a weed eater! We live in a house that the yard hasn't been taken care of very well for quite a few years! all of the sidewalks need trimming done around them, in a serious way! It would be awesome to win!

Amy C June 9, 2010 at 10:44 AM

And just because you love your readers! I follow your blog, and also have it in Google Reader! :)

ChasingHallie June 9, 2010 at 10:49 AM

What an awesome giveway! We are in serious need of the weed eater. My fiance and I recently purchased our first home and have been shelling out money for all the necessary tools along the way. A weed eater is still on our list to purchase. My fiance and I just re-did our entire backyard...a complete gut and start over and now it looks beautiful. The new sod is growing like crazy and my fiance needs to weed eat!

See our big backyard makeover at www.penniesaremoneytoo.com blog!

Fingers crossed!!

Great Giveaway! We are in need of a new trimmer, ours has kicked the bucket. My hunny had to pull the weeds/tall grass from around the trees and house by hand.

Crystal Spencer June 9, 2010 at 11:09 AM

I am not going to get on here and say that our yard is a disaster because that would mean we don't care for it. It is quite the opposite actually! My husband comes home from work, eats dinner, and heads out to the yard. He also spends pretty much every Saturday out there all day. But our yard is not in great condition right now because we have been having some drainage problems which has led to several other problems... We hope, by the end of the summer, to have a yard in pristine condition! My hubby even spent hours drawing up a colorful and detailed picture on the computer of what he dreams it will look like. If I gave my husband that tool for Father's Day, he would feel like the luckiest guy on earth! It would go to good use and I am sure he would brag about it to all our neighbors and friends. :)

Suki Lotti June 9, 2010 at 11:46 AM

I want this. Well, Hubby wants this. And if we don't win, we might just buy it.

Kelley June 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM

I would love this for my hubby.... he always takes care of the yard... I mean I dont touch a thing, so he deserves to have the best while he is toiling away!

Kelley June 9, 2010 at 1:02 PM

Thank you for the bonus, cuase I'm great entry.

fsouter June 9, 2010 at 1:51 PM

I need this 'cause mine is broken & the "yard" police have been circling... our neighbors aren't as nice as yours.

Parenting in blue jeans June 9, 2010 at 2:10 PM

I would love to give my husband this trimmer for Father's Day. Last year my hubby brought home a bulldozer from work...yes, a bulldozer but we have no trimmer...anyway, annd graded our yard. I used to be a steep hill but now has 2 tiers with a bolder retaining wall. Well, I was mowing for him last night and was trying to get the little tall grass blades on the edge of our wall and oops...dorpped the mower off. It survived but it made me realize that his pleas for a trimmer are in fact real!

Lidi Di June 9, 2010 at 2:50 PM

This would be perfect! Ours died last year and the weeds along our fence have been horrendous. We've taken to pulling them out by hand...

Design Apprentice June 9, 2010 at 3:03 PM

We deserve a trimmer because my boyfriend and I are renovating a bungalow. Not just any bungalow but a dire bungalow where we will start our life together. Right now we have to take a mover to the home everytime we mow and this trimmer would do the entire little yard so seamlessly. We wouldn't be the ugly house on the block anymore. Basically we're the smelly kin in class if you will and this would be one step to better hygene and a prettier home.

tomandsarah June 9, 2010 at 3:04 PM

hey cassity...we just put in our sprinkler system and sod...yea :) we hope it survives this sudden indian summer but a trimmer would be heavenly!!! love your blog :)

Aviva June 9, 2010 at 4:36 PM

We just bought a house and of course would LOVE a trimmer! :) Thanks for doing a giveaway!

Holly @ BeachCoveJewelry June 9, 2010 at 5:08 PM

I deserve one because I don't have one! It would be nice to have, I would love to weed whack the area where my garden is so I can get it rototilled!

Debbie June 9, 2010 at 7:25 PM

I want/need/deserve this because after 5 years of marriage, the whole time renting, we are finally in the process of buying our first home! As expensive as just buying a house is, we're finding lots of extra costs such as a lawnmower, gardening equipment, etc. This would help us out SO much!

OH man.. our yard needs that soo bad. We are moving into a "new" house, that was built in 1916 and the yard is horrible. We have not a single piece of yard maintence tools...
I'm a super follower, and tweeted! Oh please, I love this site!!

We could really use this trimmer! Money is really tight right now so this would be so awesome to win!

Jessi | Minnesota Mrs. June 9, 2010 at 9:46 PM

We are in DIRE need of this! Just moved into our first house and we're overgrown at the moment. Thanks for the opportunity!

Larsen Lowdown June 9, 2010 at 11:12 PM

I hope I win!! I'm in desperate need of a good Fathers Day present for my wonderful hubby who helps with with every project I think up. ---Robyn hirowls@hotmail.com

Durkovich June 10, 2010 at 8:58 AM

I would love to be able to save gas and the environment. I use my nice trimmer weekly workign side jobs, so to have a lighter one to tote around, and not have to fill up the gas would be great!

Unknown June 10, 2010 at 9:02 AM

I NEED this to tame my wild backyard! I moved into a bank-owned property that was vacant for atleast 7months prior. Add that to the crappy previous owners, and I have a yard full of weeds, not alot of grass, and the occasional bike rack (discovered under a pile of leaves & thicket... no joke). Slowly bringing this back to life, with any suckers I can talk into helping!

Second pic shows the yard soon after move-in. Oh, and there was a fallen tree in the back. And poison. I hate poison. http://candyskitchen.blogspot.com/2010/05/weekend-update-taming-wild.html (sorry so dark)

That renovation was awesome! Got me alittle motivated to go home & take on another project myself!

The Grissoms' Page June 10, 2010 at 1:01 PM

I just found your site and am now a follower!! I would LOVE this trimmer because I do all the trimming in our yard -- but our trimmer is a HUGE and HEAVY gas trimmer that my husband had to have. This one looks like I could handle it a little better!!

Robyn June 10, 2010 at 7:28 PM

I would love to win this for my handy husband because in the summer our neighbor is away and my husband feels bad because the guys lawn service doesn't do his lawn (and he is meticulous, normally) So my husband does it without him knowing. THANKS for the chance!

Anonymous,  June 10, 2010 at 8:53 PM

we need this! our garden is a distance from our house, and there's no electric out there. we had to bury 400 ft of irrigation tubing just to have water! the fence around the garden desperately needs to be trimmed.

Anonymous,  June 10, 2010 at 11:35 PM

Its not me who deserves one, it is my husband. He deserves this because he has said that he wants an edger sooo many times and he tries his best to keep our lawn looking nice. He mows our front and back and always says he needs to trim as well so I KNOW he would LOVE this is we won it for him!!

This would be a SUPER gift for hubby!! We have a BIG yard and an old trimmer with a cord. The cord gets in the way and you can only go so far...so a battery, light weight weed wacker would be perfect!

Unknown June 11, 2010 at 10:04 AM

Hey there I live on a golf course in the mountains of TN, I just donated 8 gas trimmers to the habitat for humanity, they repair them and sell them and it helps their great projects, I am retired and as many knows a fixed income dose not go far. My kids which I have not seen for 9 years are coming to see me this summer and I would love to have this place looking good, the weight of gas trimmers and the not starting plays bad on my heart, thank ya for reading this.

We don't want this trimmer, we NEED this trimmer. Ours just bit the dust after less than 2 years and is basically unfixable. We'd love to "go green." With your help, maybe we'll be a little closer?

angelina June 11, 2010 at 6:13 PM

my dad is getting older and would use this in the yard, he'd kill me for saying that!

Oh my goodness... my husband would love this! It would be SO neat if I were able to give it to him for our anniversary... which is at the end of the month! :)

Diane at Perfectly Imperfect Life June 11, 2010 at 10:45 PM

Oh me, oh me! Please oh please!

I so need this. Last year our mower died and we replaced it with a nice little push mower and, while I like it a lot, it does a very poor job on the edges and my yard is starting to look like ... I don't even know. Just something very scary. I NEED that trimmer! :-)

Diane at Perfectly Imperfect Life June 11, 2010 at 10:46 PM

Oh, and also, it's MY responsibility to mow, so I guess this would be a late Mother's Day gift.

Wendy June 12, 2010 at 12:11 AM

Well, we don't technically "deserve" a new trimmer. BUT, it would be fun to give it to our sweet neighbor that continues to surprise us, every now and then, by mowing our lawn. (Not that we don't...he just beats us to it, sometimes!)

Andrea June 12, 2010 at 1:25 AM

need the trimmer because I've convinced myself that the perfect line my mower creates with the area it can barely not reach is a border in itself, even though it is a combination of tall grass and misc. weeds (some of which it's too bad they are labeled as weeds - some weeds are sort of pretty!)... sigh, need the trimmer.
