Farmhouse Styling

I will admit, I love country/farmhouse style.  It feels so inviting to me.  I like that parred down country look, (I should clarify) it is less fussy-stuffy, more homemade.  Eclectic.  I like how things tell stories, or used to belong to your grandpa...  So when I saw this image from Country Living I had to share! (and a few more from the same post.)

I love the bookshelves with the ladder (a want something like this is my dream home!)
And did you notice the wide pine floors?

I love the natural, chippy-aged over time- feel of this cabinet, and those dishes are the perfect shade of blue!

I like all the different patterns and stripes in the bedding and of course the old suitcases!

That is an amazing photo, everything about it just screams country living at it's best. The floors are the first thing I noticed.

This post is so cozy and warm! I am so glad I came across your site; I moved to a new apartment today so let the DIY and remodeling begin!

The first photo is just what I'd love to have. One wall in my living room is like that, if only I could find a way to do this at a tiny cost.

Please come visit our blog at www.theoldblockhouse.blogspot.com where we're having a giveaway for a set of six antique blue quart mason jars.

Oh I love Country Living magazine. I love the more "updated" country look that is more minimalist, and less fussy. Have you ever seen Country Living photos from the 80s or 90s? yikes! very flowery, LOADS of baskets & knick knacks, stuff everywhere! Looked like too much dusting to me, lol!

LOVE this style too. Thanks for sharing these photos. I'll take the big, white distressed cabinet right in my kicthen, please!
