Reese's Pie...Get in my belly!

14 October 2009

I realized recently, even though I am not really eating desserts, I still love to make them.  And since I was  having my piano moved, I thought, I should make a thank you gift before they came over.  (The truth is I promised some friends in Asheville a thank you pie for moving a piano and I never did it, I still feel guilty to this day about that...dang I am a jerk!)

I got this recipe the first year we were married from a couple in our ward.
It is SO easy and oh my, is it good.

Reese's Pie:
makes approx. two 8" pies

Mix:
1 1/2 c peanut butter
2 c powdered sugar
1/2 c melted butter
til smooth

Gently press ingredients into a store bought graham cracker crust.
(note:  be careful not to press to hard at this point or you will crush the crust
and pieces of it will push out of the little tin)
It helps to wet your finger tips push it in so that it doesn't stick to your fingers

In separate bowl: mix instant chocolate pudding, according to pie making directions.
pour over peanut butter filling.  Then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Lastly cover pie with cool whip and sprinkle with chopped Reese's.
(If you don't have any Reese's cups you can simple chop up some peanuts and/or chocolate chips)

I forgot to take a final picture.  I guess you will have to make it yourself to see what it looks like, but most importantly what it tastes like!

That looks AMAZING!!! You have some great dessert recipes! My problem is that I don't just make them and give them away...I eat way too much of them! :)
